My food from Tuesday might go down in history as the ugliest day of food. EVER! You’ve been warned…

Oh, and apparently I shop at Trader Joe’s a lot. :)

Workout: 45 minute spin class.

Beverage: coffee + 1/2 & 1/2. (And a side of man with sword…the sword was NOT a Halloween prop).

Breakfast: Banana Custard Oats ala The Healthy Everythingtarian. I used 1/2 cup oats + 1 cup water + 1.5 eggs + 1/2 banana and topped it with 1 Tbsp peanut butter. This breakfast is amazing. Not in terms of looks, but in terms of flavor and its staying power.

Snack/treat/sugar: coffee + coconut creamer and 1/2 beignet. We had some beignets and chicory coffee at the office  and I had to sample.

Lunch: 1 cup turkey chili (from Trader Joe’s) + greek salad: romaine + cucumber + hearts of palm + kalamata olives + feta cheese + dressing. Lunch was tasty, but I don’t think I’ll get the chili again.

Snack: baked lentil chips + mediterranean greek yogurt dip

Dinner: 2 masala veggie burgers (Trader Joe’s) + steamed green beans + raw veggies

Dessert: 2 squares dark chocolate

Now, the real important question is – did you dress up for Halloween? What were you?

This was my sorry attempt…and my brother is here!

Ahh I love the makeup – it turned out well! I’ve been eyeing those lentil chips. Would you recommend them? (Because obviously I need another reason to make a trip to TJ’s ;) )

I liked the chips – they are kind of airy but nice and crunchy. :) Dip didn’t hold a candle to the kale & spinach.

There’s no shame in eating TJ’s-inspired meals multiple times a day! I do the same thing, especially after a big shop. Everything there is irresistibly delicious–it’s hard NOT to eat what’s stocked in the house. ;) Do you recommend the Greek yogurt dip?

The yogurt dip was ok, but I probably wouldn’t buy again. I am OBSESSED with their kale & spinach greek yogurt dip though. :)

Love the recipes. Thought you’d appreciate this article on a recent vitamin ad: http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/hc-op-barreca-women-in-ad-unreal-1102-20121101,0,2875260.column

Great snack ideas (and great face painting :)) Thought you’d appreciate an article just published by the Hartford Courant on unrealistic vitamin ads: http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/hc-op-barreca-women-in-ad-unreal-1102-20121101,0,2875260.column

That chili looks delish actually – you have me craving some now.
Love the face painting. I didn’t dress up this year, I know…I’m lame. I had a costume (80s themed) but ended up not going out and we don’t get any trick or treaters.

Love your make up! What did you do for Halloween? We dressed up as Frankenstein and Bride of for a party in our building. So fun!

Your makeup was so much better! We went out in West Hollywood (our neighborhood) as they have a HUGE Halloween party every year!

Wait, what? A man with a sword??? Do tell!

The first San Antonio Trader Joes just opened. I’m giving it another week for the rush to die down, and then it’s on. :)

I just wore my orange skinny crops with a black shirt while trick or treating with the kids. Someday I may dress up, but I’m not really crafty or creative and most of the store costumes are sexy and/or scary which isn’t exactly family trick or treating appropriate.

We just got a Trader Joe’s in Lexington this summer. I still get excited every time I get to go! I was just there tonight! You definitely underestimated the appeal of your eats. It all looks great! :) No dressing up here, but I did get to see a bunch of cute kiddos in their costumes while handing out candy.
