signing up for a half-marathon. Remember that time I signed up for one and then went to Napa to drink wine and learn about peanuts instead? Yeah, I needed to find another one. It’s on Sunday!

trying a greatĀ pinterest recipe: creamy caprese quinoa bake via half baked harvest. SO good.

running a lot.

“re-fueling” a lot. (In my mind, that means eating fun food like burgers from Irv’s. Oh, and I have cleavage now.)

enjoying football season, mostly with my face in my laptop.

working (finally) on some home improvements.

and buying a new rug from FLOR! Now we just need to sell our furniture and buy some new pieces. :)

not getting caught up in the Pumpkin-obsession. I enjoy real pumpkin, but don’t mind skipping the rest of it. Here are some of the Unhealthiest ‘Pumpkin’ Food Products:

reading Crazy Rich Asians. (The audio versionĀ is narrated by my friend Lynn!) I loved that book.

making dumplings. Why, oh why have I waited so long?

working on the final edits of our Annual Report at work. Sending big projects to the printer is SUCH a great feeling!

going sailing again. The water is so peaceful and lovely. I love it out there.

eating lots of Sweet Lady Jane cakes for many celebrations. Must. Stop. Eating. Cake.

making chile verde…when it was 80 degrees outside. We have yet to eat it, but initial tastes were amazing and we have lots of it in the freezer for whenever the weather cools down.

What have you been up to lately?

Thoughts on the Flor rug? We are looking to get one but with two dogs worry it would get worn really quickly.

Hmmm, I don’t know if I’m qualified to answer that. They are pretty thin, but seem sturdy…

Congrats on signing up for a half marathon! That’s great news! Confession … I have some of that Slow Churned Pumpkin ice cream in my freezer. I KNOW it’s far from healthy, but I have to say it is pretty delicious, and for a once a year treat, I’m really enjoying it!

First of all, I love that picture of you and Richie sailing! Second, I am so happy that you skipped your last half marathon to spend the weekend in Napa learning about peanuts with me instead. :) Third, I am excited for you to run your half marathon. Madison just ran her first one last Sunday! Miss you and I love that these posts make me feel like I got to catch up with you a bit!

Wow – you’ve had a fun life lately! Nice work. :) I have Crazy Rich Asians on my ‘to read’ list – awesome that you know the audio reader! We currently have Harry Potter (book one) for the audio book of the week at our house…. a bit different from CRA, huh?

Sailing always seems so peaceful, except for the whole learning how to work a boat part. I think i’d be a better passenger.

    Good luck this weekend!

Props to you for signing up for a half marathon! Once day, I’ll rise up to the challenge, but working on getting better at crossfit right now.

Also that pic of you on a boat (I’m on a boat! haha still makes me laugh) is awesome!

ALSO I totally am on the same page with you and pumpkin shenanigans!

They are open until the end of October! They hope to open somewhere else soon. It is a fun little spot, but only open M-Sa until 6pm.

That caprese quinoa bake looks delicious! Will have to try that. How do you calculate your nutritional stats on your daily eats posts? I recently invested in an up band which provides stats but doesn’t distinguish between carbs from vegetables (which I eat a lot of) and stuff like that. Thanks! Love your blog!

I actually use the ‘Lose It!’ app, but it doesn’t separate carbs from veggies and carbs from grains. (If you find something that does, please share, I’d love to see it!)
