flying to Florida for the weekend. It was a whirlwind trip, but I’m so glad we went to see Richie’s family, it had been FAR too long.

stand up paddle-boarding for the first time! (See above.) Our bro-in-law just opened up a paddle board shop in Naples, so we got a quick lesson and both loved it – I definitely recommend trying it, on a lake or the ocean!

reading Fast Company magazine for the first time + subscribing immediately. I love it.

obsessed with Kát Rudu beauty (specifically the vitamin c serum and liquid lift serum) products. I met Kát at a beauty/fashion event and her skin? Gorgeous.

watching True Detective. Initially I thought it was a little slow, then things got REALLY creepy. Have you seen it?

making kale ice cubes. I found a HUGE bag of baby kale on sale and we definitely couldn’t go through it fast enough so when it was on its last leg, I blended it with water and froze it into ice cubes so we always have kale for our smoothies and juices. It’s so convenient!

giving stitch fix (affiliate) another try. I wasn’t happy with my last “fix” but I’m hoping they can redeem themselves! It seems that people either love it or hate it, but it is still really fun to get a surprise box of clothes in the mail every month.

changing up my standard working lunch: turkey + carrots + tortilla chips + spicy hummus. Hummus + vegetables = good. Hummus + chips = addicting!

making Heartbeet Kitchen’s Green Hip Dip. It’s a delicious mashup between guacamole and hummus, be sure to try it out! (Image via Heartbeet Kitchen)

finishing Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia*. It sounds a bit morbid, and it is, but it’s an interesting glimpse into psychology and eating disorders.

starting The Thank You Economy*. This book “reveals how businesses can harness all the changes and challenges inherent in social media and turn them into opportunities for profit and growth.” Gary Vaynerchuk also wrote Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook* which I loved, so I’m hoping I find this one just as helpful. (possibly) starting to understand the  magic of leftovers…blue apron is helping.

celebrating our 3rd Pride weekend in West Hollywood. It’s hard to believe we’ve been living in West Hollywood that long! (And for you RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules fans out there, we visited the new restaurant, Pump – Lisa and Ken were there – and I was served LVP Sangria by Schwartz. That was fun.)

loving that Buzzfeed’s “21 Struggles of Being Raised By Hippies” pretty much sums up my childhood. Life was good. And I’m totally not giving my kids sugar cereal either.

What have you been up to lately?

They have a place that you can try SUP in Chicago – I’ve been thinking about giving it a try one of these days (the problem is actually making time for it!). Those kale ice cubes are pretty genius, too. I usually use frozen banana chunks for the frozen component of my smoothies, but this would be a good lower-sugar alternative!

Oh you should definitely do it! Chicago would be an awesome place for it. I also love the frozen bananas in smoothies. (I typically use both!)

I can totally relate to that Buzzfeed list, too :) The kale cubes are brilliant! And SUP… so fun! Thanks for the reminder I need to do that at least once this summer :) Have a great weekend, lady!

I SUPed for the first time this year, too! It was so hard on the ocean, I stayed on my knees most of the time! Everyone tells me I need to try it on a lake. And loved True Detective. Slow and creepy, yes, but somehow it hooked me. I’m a huge murder mystery fan, though. I’ve been getting into the business mags a lot lately, too. I’m visiting the fam in Indiana so just enjoying the views of corn and the culture shock. :)
