(I started writing this post SO long ago…where does the time go?)

Republique

eating an AMAZING dinner at Republique. I think it was one of the best meals of my life.

Christmas

really wanting to send out Christmas cards. It seemed like the adult thing to do. But we just couldn’t get our act together so I made a “virtual” one and shared it on facebook instead. Next year?

celebrating New Year’s Eve with an old-school dinner with friends: standing rib roast + roasted fingerlings + mushroom sherry sauce

making some 2014 resolutions/goals. Some are really cool like a big trip and others are…wearing lipstick + perfume every day.

reading and seeing The Wolf of Wall Street. (Thoughts?!)

oatmeal scones

baking these oatmeal scones

eating at L & E Oyster Bar in Silverlake with friends who were visiting.

picking up a copy of kinfolk. Have you seen these magazine/books? Motto: Discover things to cook, make and do. They come out quarterly and are simply stunning. (Recommended by same friend.)

seeing James Turrell exhibit at LACMA. (Also, with same friends…it was a great weekend!)

subsequently deciding that an annual pass to LACMA was necessary.

LA Times

taking a tour of the LA Times. This tour was FANTASTIC. (Did you know that the LA Times is one of the only papers in the country that has a test kitchen?)

on a total smoothie kick. (How to make a green smoothie.)

Getty Villa

visiting the Getty Villa. No words.

Malibu

drinking overpriced wine and mediocre food at Moonshadows in Malibu. (At least the sunset was amazing.)

really busy at work. It’s Spring newsletter season!

loving this lunch: veggie burger (Qrunch and Hilary’s Eat Well are my faves!)  + a slice of melted goat cheese + fresh avocado. OBSESSED! I add baby carrots and deli turkey or chicken on the side for a prep-free meal that is SO satisfying and delicious.

What have you been up to lately?

Oh man! I’m dying to go to the Getty Villa. I never seem to make my way over there. Love the Getty Center though.

My smoothie kick is over. Currently into: steamed broccoli, cauliflower in all forms and yogurt.

I totally mean to send out a Christmas card every year and never get to it. Next year, when the new little one is here, I’ll have to get my act together. That fountain is breath taking!

um, I’d say wearing lipstick and perfume everyday is pretty cool?! Lipstick is so fun and easy, and adds so much to a look! What colors are thinking for this spring/summer?! NARS “heatwave” is on my wishlist but I will probably be hitting up MAC (for discount so let me know! Your birthday is right around the corner! ;) And your trip just sounds amazing! And I think you just heard what I have been up to – Cameron :)

Looks like the sunset made up for the overpriced wine and mediocre food! That’s coming from someone that is in Baltimore where if there have been nice sunsets lately it’s been about 20 degrees outside.
