learning

Remember a while back I told you that I was overwhelmed with everything going on in life?

Well, there must have been something about turning 28 – yesterday!  Some desire to learn something, aquire new skills, participate in something new and exciting that I just couldn’t get out of my head.

(Cupcakes were also part of turning 28)

Last weekend  I signed up for a photography class. Then a photoshop class. (They go hand in hand you know.) And in the following 24 hours I got this “grand” idea that I should attend the upcoming Core Power Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training. You see, I’ve always wanted to be a yoga instructor (oddly enough even before I really got into yoga) and have been toying around with the idea of Hot Yoga Teacher Training for quite some time. Yoga sculpt involves significantly less time and money and I figure it will be the perfect intro to see if teaching yoga is for me. Plus, I can’t wait to teach some classes for the kids at camp.

So in the name of slowing down, I’ve been at yoga teacher training all weekend. It might just be what I needed…

Crazy? Probably a little.  But somehow I find a way to justify it. ;)

You’re the ultimate bag lady :) Look at all of that stuff!

I hope you had a lovely birthday and good for you for signing up for those classes. I’ve been itching to do something like that as well. I actually really miss being in school!

Thanks Mo! I’ll do that, I wasn’t planning on it, but I guess it might be interesting to some!

Of course! I’m taking the DSLR and photoshop classes through Minneapolis Community Education. They are very reasonable and will hopefully be very helpful!

Thats awesome! I would love to be a yoga instructor as well (but suck at yoga–boo!) but it just seems like it would be a fun thing to have under my belt. Hope you had a fantastic birthday :)

    Ha! I probably do. :)
It will be a while before I would be teaching adults but I’ll definitely keep you posted!

Happy Birthday, girl! I went through CPY Hot Power Fusion teacher training last year in San Diego and it seriously changed my life! Good luck in the coming weeks/months! Things can get hectic trying to balance work/school/yoga or whatever, but it’s totally worth it in the end!

First of all congrats on the 2 yrs of blogging and Happy Birthday! I was 28 when we moved to Brazil and that is when those exact feelings started for me. I thought, there has to be more, and I wanted to start thinking outside the box and DO more with my time. Even though I always felt busy, I wasn’t gaining much new knowledge. I’m happy to tell you that it continues at least throughout 32. :) Running, language, photography, blogging, publishing, gardening and knitting are all things I’ve taken on in that time. I can’t wait to hear more about this yoga instruction. Sounds great! You are inspiring!

Happy belated birthday! I laughed at your photo because you look just like I do when going out the door. Lunch bag, purse, yoga mat, yoga clothes, post-yoga clothes, camera bag, laptop…it’s nuts, isn’t it?
