visiting The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills. Some good friends had given us a gift card and we recently went in for a visit and left with some really great wine, delicious cheese and an amazingly chewy loaf of bread. Total last meal-worthy.

stitch fixing: My second “fix” was a total bust, but my third had one item (still not thrilled about that!) that I liked and took to instagram to decide, which ended up being really fun, I loved hearing your opinions. hosting a greek dinner party! We made lamb burgers (stuffed into pita bread and grilled), traditional greek salad, roasted rosemary potatoes and a slew of greek spreads: tzatziki, babaganoush and skordalia served with grilled bread and pita. Galaktoboureko for dessert!

flying to Florida for the weekend. It was a whirlwind trip, but I’m so glad we went to see Richie’s family, it had been FAR too long.

stand up paddle-boarding for the first time! (See above.) Our bro-in-law just opened up a paddle board shop in Naples, so we got a quick lesson and both loved it - I definitely recommend trying it, on a lake or the ocean!

reading Fast Company magazine for the first time + subscribing immediately. I love it.

obsessed with Kát Rudu beauty (specifically the vitamin c serum and liquid lift serum) products. I met Kát at a beauty/fashion event and her skin? Gorgeous.

watching True Detective. Initially I thought it was a little slow, then things got REALLY creepy. Have you seen it?

making kale ice cubes. I found a HUGE bag of baby kale on sale and we definitely couldn’t go through it fast enough so when it was on its last leg, I blended it with water and froze it into ice cubes so we always have kale for our smoothies and juices. It’s so convenient!

giving stitch fix (affiliate) another try. I wasn’t happy with my last “fix” but I’m hoping they can redeem themselves! It seems that people either love it or hate it, but it is still really fun to get a surprise box of clothes in the mail every month.

changing up my standard working lunch: turkey + carrots + tortilla chips + spicy hummus. Hummus + vegetables = good. Hummus + chips = addicting!

finishing Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia*. It sounds a bit morbid, and it is, but it’s an interesting glimpse into psychology and eating disorders.

starting The Thank You Economy*. This book “reveals how businesses can harness all the changes and challenges inherent in social media and turn them into opportunities for profit and growth.” Gary Vaynerchuk also wrote Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook* which I loved, so I’m hoping I find this one just as helpful. celebrating our 3rd Pride weekend in West Hollywood. It’s hard to believe we’ve been living in West Hollywood that long! (And for you RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules fans out there, we visited the new restaurant, Pump – Lisa and Ken were there – and I was served LVP Sangria by Schwartz. That was fun.)

loving that Buzzfeed’s “21 Struggles of Being Raised By Hippies” pretty much sums up my childhood. Life was good. And I’m totally not giving my kids sugar cereal either.

eating at PettyCash Taqueria. It’s a beautiful space with creative nachos: pig ear and a vegetarian crispy kale and cauliflower. So it means we’ve been there twice already and have tried both nacho varieties.

stitch fix

trying out stitch fix. (affiliate link!) I’ve always been curious about this “online personal styling service” and since I’ve been seriously hating everything in my closet, it was time to try it out! I’ve only gotten one “fix” so far but was pleasantly surprised. A lot of the things I’ve seen in reviews aren’t my style so I honestly wasn’t expecting much. I ended up keeping one sweater (that I love) and would have kept a few other items but they didn’t fit right/were a little too much money. Getting surprise clothes in the mail is amazing. :)

social media, social media, social media! I put together a presentation for work and then did a slew of learn.ist boards on social media for business. It was really fun.

having some of our best friends in town (+ godson) for a long weekend full of LA activities, lots of food and many hours staring (and smiling) at the baby.  

so excited to have no plans this weekend and get back into the kitchen!

spending a glorious week in Mexico. Lazy, beach vacations are the best, especially when they involve family. (post coming soon on Sayulita!)

making fresh ceviche in Mexico. I worried a few times about the fish not being kept cold enough, the little friend who was stabbing the fish with a stick, and keeping it in the fridge for a day. But my brother quickly shut me down, reminding me that I’ve never had fish that fresh. Ok then.

not attending Expo West this year. It’s the first year in seven that I haven’t attended and I’m kind of depressed about it/I feel really out of the loop.

starting to kind of run again. By kind of I mean, walking for a while and running for a while. I don’t hate it.

still eating my favorite lunch on a weekly basis: qrunch burger + goat cheese + avocado + some turkey slices with more avocado + carrots. It’s satisfying, delicious and requires NO prep.

using four elements golden crown botanical elixir – for mature skin. Because as you know, I’m freaking out about wrinkles. I’ve also started getting serious about using products that are as natural as possible. This line is as good as it gets and I love supporting businesses that I know and believe in (everything is made in my home town).

testing out a ton of new recipes (a lot of them were inspired by our Mexico trip and many will be coming soon!).
