spending a glorious week in Mexico. Lazy, beach vacations are the best, especially when they involve family. (post coming soon on Sayulita!)

making fresh ceviche in Mexico. I worried a few times about the fish not being kept cold enough, the little friend who was stabbing the fish with a stick, and keeping it in the fridge for a day. But my brother quickly shut me down, reminding me that I’ve never had fish that fresh. Ok then.

not attending Expo West this year. It’s the first year in seven that I haven’t attended and I’m kind of depressed about it/I feel really out of the loop.

starting to kind of run again. By kind of I mean, walking for a while and running for a while. I don’t hate it.

Lately I' ve Been... | A Nutritionist Eats

still eating my favorite lunch on a weekly basis: qrunch burger + goat cheese + avocado + some turkey slices with more avocado + carrots. It’s satisfying, delicious and requires NO prep.

using four elements golden crown botanical elixir – for mature skin. Because as you know, I’m freaking out about wrinkles. I’ve also started getting serious about using products that are as natural as possible. This line is as good as it gets and I love supporting businesses that I know and believe in (everything is made in my home town).

testing out a ton of new recipes (a lot of them were inspired by our Mexico trip and many will be coming soon!).

eating an AMAZING dinner at Republique. I think it was one of the best meals of my life.

really wanting to send out Christmas cards. It seemed like the adult thing to do. But we just couldn’t get our act together so I made a “virtual” one and shared it on facebook instead. Next year?

celebrating New Year’s Eve with an old-school dinner with friends: standing rib roast + roasted fingerlings + mushroom sherry sauce

making some 2014 resolutions/goals. Some are really cool like a big trip and others are…wearing lipstick + perfume every day.

reading and seeing The Wolf of Wall Street. (Thoughts?!)

subsequently deciding that an annual pass to LACMA was necessary.

drinking overpriced wine and mediocre food at Moonshadows in Malibu. (At least the sunset was amazing.)

really busy at work. It’s Spring newsletter season!

loving this lunch: veggie burger (Qrunch and Hilary’s Eat Well are my faves!)  + a slice of melted goat cheese + fresh avocado. OBSESSED! I add baby carrots and deli turkey or chicken on the side for a prep-free meal that is SO satisfying and delicious.

drinking tea again. I don’t drink much tea in the summer, but now that the weather has (sort of) cooled down, I’m all about it. I also try to use Sugar Cookie tea as a dessert in the winter. Sometimes it works. :)

finishing my half marathon! I ran the Rock N’ Roll Los Angeles on an early Sunday morning. I hit my goal of finishing under two hours (I think my time was 1:57) and I’ve got the terrible race photos to prove it. It feels like that was SO long ago now!

discovering starbucks rewards app. So many convienient things about this app. I can load money and pay with my phone which is the most amazing thing. I’m hooked.

having little bro in town! We had a great weekend full of exciting hikes, football games, rum at the Tiki Ti and lots of chicken wings.

making fun cocktails. Bourbon Maple Apple Cider from fruetcake was a big hit. I’m not a huge cocktail person, but I tried a sip and Richie loved it. I think it’s a new favorite in our house. Not to mention we now have 78 ounces of apple cider…

having friends in town! SO fun. Dinner at Connie & Ted’s, lunch at Villa Blanca (complete with a Lisa & Ken Vanderpump sighting), shopping, drinks at The Beverly Hills Hotel and dancing at SUR. We packed a lot into 48 hours.

signing up for a half-marathon. Remember that time I signed up for one and then went to Napa to drink wine and learn about peanuts instead? Yeah, I needed to find another one. It’s on Sunday!

trying a great pinterest recipe: creamy caprese quinoa bake via half baked harvest. SO good.

running a lot.

“re-fueling” a lot. (In my mind, that means eating fun food like burgers from Irv’s. Oh, and I have cleavage now.)

enjoying football season, mostly with my face in my laptop.

working (finally) on some home improvements.

and buying a new rug from FLOR! Now we just need to sell our furniture and buy some new pieces. :)

not getting caught up in the Pumpkin-obsession. I enjoy real pumpkin, but don’t mind skipping the rest of it. Here are some of the Unhealthiest ‘Pumpkin’ Food Products:

reading Crazy Rich Asians. (The audio version is narrated by my friend Lynn!) I loved that book.

making dumplings. Why, oh why have I waited so long?

working on the final edits of our Annual Report at work. Sending big projects to the printer is SUCH a great feeling!

going sailing again. The water is so peaceful and lovely. I love it out there.

eating lots of Sweet Lady Jane cakes for many celebrations. Must. Stop. Eating. Cake.

making chile verde…when it was 80 degrees outside. We have yet to eat it, but initial tastes were amazing and we have lots of it in the freezer for whenever the weather cools down.
